Israeli man murdered and friend seriously injured in stabbing attack at Karmiel mall

A young Israeli man was murdered today (Wednesday) in a stabbing attack at the Hotuzot Mall in Karmiel. The attack occurred when the terrorist who arrived at the mall went up to the second floor and then attacked a group of young people with stab wounds, wounding them. One of the injured managed to respond by shooting with his personal weapon - and killed the terrorist, Jawad Rabia, 21, an Arab-Israeli from the village of Nahaf near Karmiel. According to a report on Channel 12, the commander of the northern police district, Shuki Tahauke, ordered the arrest of all family members of the suspect in the attack. The police were also instructed to prepare for the demolition of the terrorist's house in the town of Nahaf. His mother, who was at the scene, was arrested by security forces. The terrorist's sister, who works at the mall, claimed: "I called to tell him that someone is harassing me, this is not a nationalist attack." In the footage of the attack on one of the security cameras of one of the restaurants there, the terrorist is seen trying to escape after stabbing the two young men. One of the wounded is seen chasing him and shooting at him in order to neutralize him.

The commander of the Northern Police District, Lt. Col. Shuki Tahauke, issued a statement to the media: "There was a serious attack here. A terrorist arrived on foot, entered the mall and stabbed two civilians. One of the civilians managed to regain his composure and neutralized him immediately. The terrorist was neutralized, the two wounded were evacuated and treated in the hospital. "The entire area has been closed off, under control by the Israel Police. The security forces are with us. We also provided assistance to another young man about 20 years old who was moderately to seriously injured. Both were evacuated to the Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya." MDA emergency medical paramedic Ran Moshkowitz said: "When I arrived at the shopping center, I was directed to the second floor. I saw two injured men, men in their 20s, lying with penetrating injuries near the stalls, one of whom was unconscious. "We began medical treatment, which included stopping the bleeding and applying bandages and performing CPR on the injured man, who was unconscious. While receiving medical treatment, we put them in an intensive care unit and evacuated them to the hospital, with one in critical condition and the other in serious condition, although he was conscious." The Israel Police reported: This morning, at around 11:30, a report was received at the police hotline of a suspected stabbing attack, during which two men were seriously and slightly injured, according to medical officials. The terrorist, whose identity is not yet known, was neutralized on the spot and his death was determined at the scene by medical officials.
