8 months after October 7th: The Prime Minister announced last night (Monday) to the ministers who participated in the political-security cabinet meeting that he had decided to cancel the 'war cabinet' - and conduct the discussions in the expanded cabinet.
However, sources close to Netanyahu said that he will hold more limited consultations in a forum similar to that of the War Cabinet, which will be called the "Kitchenette," and that decisions will be made in the Political-Security Cabinet.
In doing so, Netanyahu removes from the table the demand of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir - who demanded that he be included in the 'war cabinet', after the departure of Benny Gantz and Gadi Eisenkot.
With the resignation of the two, only Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Galant, Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer, and Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri remained in the war cabinet.
As reported, immediately after the state camp withdrew, the chairman of Otzma Yehudit demanded that Netanyahu join the limited cabinet. "The management of the war has so far been carried out in an unknown manner, through limited forums that change their names and definitions in a roundabout way," Ben Gvir wrote. "All for the purpose of exclusive control over decisions and avoiding discussion of other positions that would challenge the old conception."
