A decade later: The Givati Brigade fighters carried out an exciting closing of the circle yesterday (Friday) - 10 years after Operation Protective Edge in 2014 against Hamas. The Givati fighters and the people of Israel will never forget the 'Black Friday' of 'Protective Edge': During the fierce clash between Hamas terrorists and IDF forces, three Givati patrol fighters were killed - the patrol commander, Major Benya Sarel, Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, and Sergeant Liel Gideoni. The Hamas terrorists took Goldin's body with them. After the clash and Hadar's kidnapping, the Givati patrol raided the outpost, which is symbolic in the eyes of Hamas terrorists, and conducted an extensive search of it after intelligence information about a tunnel that existed inside the outpost. According to a report by Hillel Biton Rosen on Channel 14, yesterday - 10 years after the kidnapping of Goldin, the Givati Patrol raided the 'Martyrs' Post' again - and this time not to search for anything, but to destroy it. The post from which the terrorists stormed was completely destroyed. Another closing of the circle in this operation: the commander of the Givati Patrol about a decade ago was Eli Gino, who yesterday led the activity at the 'Martyrs' Post' and in his area as the brigade's chief of staff. The commander of the Givati Brigade in Operation Protective Edge was Ofer Winter.
