President Yitzhak Herzog today (Thursday) attacked the tweet by National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir against US President Joe Biden. At a ceremony marking the Victory Day over Nazi Germany, Herzog referred to the friendship between Israel and the United States - and said: "This is an opportunity to especially thank the allies of the State of Israel even today, and especially our greatest ally, the United States of America." Against the backdrop of the attacks from government ministers - Herzog said: "I would like to thank President Biden, who is a great friend of the State of Israel who has proven this from the first day of the war." He added and criticized Minister Ben-Gvir: "In the context of this morning's news, it is important for me to say that even when there are arguments and disappointing moments between friends and allies, there is a way to clarify the differences and it is imperative to avoid baseless, irresponsible and insulting statements and tweets that harm the national security interests of the State of Israel." In a tweet, Ben Gvir attacked President Biden's threat that he would not supply bombs and shells to Israel if it launched a large-scale operation in Rafah - and wrote that Hamas loves Biden: "Hamas ❤️Biden.".
