A paramedic in the United Hatzalah organization, and one of the well-known figures in the rescue organizations, was arrested this morning (Wednesday) on suspicion of committing serious crimes against several different women. According to a report by Omri Maniv on Channel 12, the 33-year-old paramedic, a former ultra-Orthodox who returned to the scene, is suspected of committing serious crimes against several women - mainly former ultra-Orthodox women. According to the police's suspicions and according to the women's testimonies, he invited other men to his home in Ramat Gan, and when the victims were partially conscious and under the influence of alcohol or drugs - they committed particularly serious crimes against them. The police suspect that the men actually paid him in exchange for coming to the scene and harming those women. According to Channel 12, so far at least 4 women have complained to the police, and an undercover investigation has been underway against him in the Tel Aviv District police for more than a year. The paramedic was arrested this morning by investigators from the Bnei Brak police station, and in the afternoon, the court extended his detention by 6 days at the request of the police. Attorney Avisag Cohen, who represents him on behalf of the public defender's office, said: "This is a paramedic who has been volunteering and saving lives for years, and in the events of October 7, he risked his life and saved many lives. The nature of his personal life does not constitute grounds for arrest. These are old complaints that were filed about a year and a half ago, and only now have the Israel Police remembered to act on the case. "Not only that, the police grossly violated the suspect's rights and he was arrested even though the arrest warrant had expired. Although we are in the initial stages of the open investigation, at this stage it already appears that there are very significant evidentiary difficulties. We expect the investigation to end as soon as possible and he will be released." The police said: Investigators at the Bnei Brak police station opened an undercover investigation in recent months after receiving several complaints about serious offenses he committed against several women. With the investigation going public, the suspect, 33 years old, a resident of Ramat Gan, was arrested today and brought for questioning at the station. The suspect was brought to a hearing at the Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court, which extended his detention until 13.5.24. The investigation is ongoing.
