The police opened an investigation into a car explosion in Netanya this evening (Sunday). According to initial findings, the background is likely criminal. A security camera at the scene captured the moments before the explosion: The video shows three young men driving a car and parking it near the sidewalk. The driver, who gets out last, locks the car and looks towards it before continuing to walk after his two friends. A few seconds later, when the car's passengers are no longer around, a large explosion is seen - and the car catches fire. The police said: "The police officer examined the remains of the item, along with scanning the area to remove any additional risk to the public, and at the end of the activity, he transferred the findings for further evidence extraction to the forensic laboratories.".
