A survey by the Panels Politics Institute, conducted for the Submarine program on the Knesset Channel, reveals interesting data about the pitched battle between Shas Chairman MK Aryeh Deri and his predecessor in the position, MK Eli Yishai.

Deri has said several times publicly that he wants Yishai by his side in the leadership of Shas. He also expressed this at the large rally, which was held last week at the 'Arena' stadium.

But does the public believe him?

Well, 44% of the public do not believe Deri, and only 28% think he is speaking honestly.

Despite Deri's return to the leadership of the movement by Rabbi Yosef, the public prefers Eli Yishai to the helm of the chairmanship. Among Shas voters, 38% prefer Yishai and only 23% choose Deri.

Among the general public, the gap is even greater in Yishai's favor: 33% compared to only 15% for Deri.

And this also translates into mandates: Shas, led by Aryeh Deri, receives, according to the poll, only 7 mandates, while if Eli Yishai heads the movement, it will win 9 mandates.

Eli Yishai said in recent days that immediately after the end of the year of the passing of the Grand Rabbi, he will act publicly in everything related to the battle between him and Deri, and say what he has to say.
