After the revelation of the documentation of the Bibas family in the Gaza Strip: An IDF spokesman announced that Shiri and her children Ariel and Kfir were kidnapped by the Kataib al-Mujahideen ('Holy Warriors') organization.

According to News 12, this is a marginal terrorist organization, one of the small factions operating in Gaza and has no importance or influence.

At the end of November, the Al-Mujahideen Brigades declared: "The three members of the Bibas family were in our possession when they were found dead."

The terrorist organization also stated that contact with the terrorists who were responsible for them had been severed - and that they too had been killed.

The IDF did not confirm the reports, but emphasized that there is concern for the safety of the mother and her two children.

The Al-Mujahideen Brigades were established in 2001, at the beginning of the Second Intifada, and later split from Fatah's military wing, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades - after adopting extremist religious patterns of action.

Over the years, the terrorist organization has allied itself with Hamas and cooperates with it in terrorist operations, supplying weapons and training.

But as mentioned, the influence of the small faction in Gaza is minimal - since it is ultimately subordinate to Hamas, which is considered sovereign. Hamas is the one that actually makes every decision itself, and this small faction has rebelled against its authority.

This is also why the IDF spokesman emphasized: "Hamas is responsible for their fate."
