Donat was airlifted to the trauma room in Soroka about a month ago, suffering from multi-systemic injuries. After initial stabilization, he was rushed to the operating room and then to the general intensive care unit, where he was sedated and ventilated.

After he recovered, he was transferred for further treatment to the plastic surgery department.

This week, the staff at Soroka said goodbye to Yonatan, with tears and a smile, as he was released to continue the rehabilitation process.

Donat, a fighter from the "Eitach Team" in Gaza, moved the country when he asked to go out, despite his serious injury, to mourn his commander, Captain Harel Eitach, where he paid a touching tribute to him in tears: "Eitach, you were the shepherd of all of our sheep, I love you and agree to die for you ten more times and be wounded until the end of the world. I am simply proud to be your soldier."

Dr. Amit Frankel, a senior physician in the General Intensive Care Department, said goodbye to Donat: "Yonatan came to us with a complex multi-system injury. His injury required hospitalization in intensive care for several days, and even required several additional surgeries performed by the surgical team.

"In our eyes, Jonathan is a symbol of the bravery of the warriors, who are able to get up and recover despite their severe injuries. We all salute Jonathan and wish him success in continuing his rehabilitation."
