Media personality Haim Levinson was attacked this evening (Saturday) by a plainclothes police officer before a soccer game at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.

Levinson wrote in a tweet he posted on his Twitter account: "Teddy arrives late from 'Meet the Press.' Sees a policeman raging at a citizen, raging and beating him, "Look at him bald in the middle punching him, filming him. Jumps on me, choking me, so I couldn't breathe. Israel Police Response: During tonight's soccer game at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem, municipal inspectors attempted to enter the fan stands to enforce the stadium's no-smoking regulations. The inspectors encountered fans who forcibly prevented them from doing so and thwarted enforcement. As a result, police forces were deployed to assist the inspectors in enforcement, and during the incident, the police were forced to use force after being blocked and attacked with punches and spits by a handful of fans. As a result of the police attack on the scene, one police officer was injured in the eye. As a result, one suspect was arrested on suspicion of assaulting police officers, and three additional fans who rioted were removed for disturbing the peace. Alongside this misconduct by a number of violent fans, it emerged that during the incident, one of the fans who was nearby was injured, was not involved in this incident, documented the incident, and had his glasses broken, as a result of a police detective's use of force against him.
