Obama: "Iran's nuclear program is a high priority""

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met tonight (Israel time) at the White House with US President Barack Obama.

At the beginning of their meeting, which is scheduled to last 75 minutes, the two spoke to media representatives, and immediately afterwards they closed themselves in the room.

""We need to find a way to change the status quo in Gaza and find ways to advance peace with the Palestinians," Obama said.

Trying to melt the ice between him and Netanyahu, he said that Netanyahu is no stranger to the presidential palace, adding that the US felt immense concern during the past summer, when rockets were fired at Israel and following the situation in Gaza.

Regarding the Iranian issue, Obama said: "Iran's nuclear program is high on the priority list not only for Israel, but also for the United States and the entire world.".

בנוגע לדאעש אמר אובמה: "אנחנו נדון בדרכים להפחית את הטרור ולבודד את הסרטן הזה שנקרא המדינה האסלאמית. הם הרגו יותר מוסלמים מכל דת אחרת". ראש הממשלה, מצדו, הודה לאובמה על התמיכה בישראל: "יש יחסים איתנים בינינו לבין ארצות הברית. עלינו לדון באתגרים העצומים שיש במזרח התיכון, הם מציבים סכנות חדשות אבל גם הזדמנויות חדשות.  אנחנו צריכים לקדם את השלום, אני מחויב לפתרון שתי מדינות לשני עמים. ישראל תומכת באופן מלא במאבק נגד דאעש ואני חושב שכך צריכים כולם לעשות".
