We said goodbye to him slowly, the whole family sat together. We sang, accompanied him upstairs, I said 'Shema Israel' with him, it was a wonderful farewell." She added: "There was a difficult conversation with the children. I told them that the doctors did everything they could and that he was gone and we would miss him; that he would always be with them in our hearts, and that it was permissible to cry and miss him. He left me treasures." Talia, who recalled the day Zvika was injured: "It was a long hour and a half drive to the hospital. When I arrived, he opened his eyes and responded, but could not speak. He entered the Gaza Strip for the last time on Friday and the explosion happened on Monday. We were amazed by his strength and mental fortitude that he managed to survive such an injury. "Zvika was a wonderful combination of a fighter and a social worker. A man who never stops changing, learning, developing and getting to know himself. He was a wonderful father.".
