In order to meet the great demand of the thousands who wish to reach the remains of our Temple on the fast day of Tishrei B'Av: The Ministry of Transportation, led by Deputy Minister for Haredi Development Uri Maklev, will, through the National Public Transportation Authority, increase public transportation lines to the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
This is to allow many who wish to come to the Western Wall at night, when the heat is less intense, to offer supplication, prayer, and lamentations near the remains of the Temple.
As part of this reinforcement, all public transportation lines operating to the Western Wall will be activated. All municipal service to the Western Wall will be activated and reinforced during the day, alongside regular activity at all hours of the night.
From the experience of recent years, in which there has been an increase in the number of passengers expressing confidence in the public transportation service and traveling to the Western Wall through it, the need was understood and, as stated, a decision was made under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Haredi Development to provide service at all hours of the night.
In the control room of the public transportation system, which operates together with the Israel Police, they welcomed the activation of the night service, which will allow for a wider distribution of the public over more hours during the day - as crowds will arrive this year at night.
