Incitement is rampant: Suspect arrested for spraying graffiti on two Chabad houses

Beer Sheva police investigators opened an investigation last night upon receiving a report of graffiti being sprayed on the exterior walls of two synagogues in Neighborhood B in the city of Beer Sheva. One synagogue is the central Chabad house in the capital of the Negev. The other is the Chabad house's 'Youth Center - Writers' Center' synagogue.

One of the members of the Beersheba City Council told the Chabad-COL website: "In the city of Beersheba, there is peace and harmony between all sectors. The fruits of incitement are seeping into the area, a fact that the Chabad House symbolizes precisely the opposite, spreading love of Israel and connecting all parts of the public.".

MK Kalmog Cohen of Otzma Yehudit responded: "In the past 24 hours, two very serious incidents have occurred in which hateful graffiti was sprayed on synagogues in the city of Beersheba. In a different reality, in which hateful graffiti was sprayed on a mosque or church, the entire political and media system would have stood on its hind legs and condemned, and rightly so.
