The indictment filed by attorney Or Arber states that last June, a state memorial ceremony was held on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem for the fallen of Operation Protective Edge, in the presence of the Prime Minister. At the end of the ceremony, Ayelet Goldin, the sister of Lieutenant Hadar Goldin, addressed the Prime Minister, expressing her protest over the fact that her brother's body was being held by Hamas. According to the indictment, that day the defendant watched a television program in which this segment was broadcast, and decided to make threats against the Prime Minister, in order to motivate him to occupy the Gaza Strip and return the body of Goldin, and other captives - among other things because Goldin had served as the defendant's guide in a youth movement. Following this, the defendant located on the Internet the location of the grave of Lt. Col. Yonatan (Yoni) Netanyahu, the Prime Minister's brother, who is buried in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl, and wrote the following letter: "What's going on, Yoni, Yigibor? How are you doing up there? Oh, I forgot, you must be standing still and there's not much to move forward. I was asked to inform your brother, Pippi Netanyahu, that he has some rights or many rights, but they are over. And hence, Mount Herzl, this holy place, the clock is ticking back, until the 28th of Tishrei 5774 when your brother, H...., thinks he will reach the age of 74. 🙂 Let it be clear, this is a first-class threat, 🙂 red alert level. Your tasks are: A. To occupy Gaza. B. To return the body of my guide, Hadar Goldin, and the rest of the captives. C. ...., Bibi, the clock is ticking back!!! 🙂 You have a little more than three and a half months left." The indictment further details that after writing the letter, the defendants traveled to the grave plot of Yoni Netanyahu. Upon his arrival at the scene, at approximately 02:56, he located the grave plot, and taped his letter to the bottom of the marble tombstone. The defendant did so with the aim that the contents of the letter would reach the Prime Minister. In the prosecutor's request for detention until the end of the proceedings against the defendant, the prosecutor's office emphasized the seriousness of the defendant's actions, and noted that "his actions were carried out after prior, meticulous and calculated planning, in a manner that could harm the public and the foundations of the democratic regime.".
