The chairman of the Knesset Health Committee, MK Uriel Bosso, held a debate today (Tuesday) on the bill to limit parking fees at medical institutions. Bosso noted, among other things, the circular from the Director General of the Ministry of Health in 2017, which set a uniform price threshold for 24 hours without restrictions on entry and exit. MK Bosso: 'People come to hospitals with one medical condition or another, happy or sad, each according to the situation - and it is impossible for the place that is supposed to show the greatest sensitivity in terms of assistance, to demand an exorbitant price for parking, when in many cases this is contrary to common sense and borders on oppression.' Bosso added: 'This is a welcome and social bill submitted by the chairman of the Shas faction, MK Yinon Azoulay. It needs to be implemented literally on the ground, so that those families who come to visit or patients who come for treatment do not have to spend excessive amounts for parking.' He said, "It is important that a number of criteria be put forward that will make it significantly easier for patients or those on their behalf during hospitalization and hospital visits. This is an important proposal and we all hope that it will be able to help many families, especially those for whom hospitals have unfortunately become the center of their lives.".
