For the second time in less than a week: A tear gas grenade was thrown last night (Tuesday) at the parking lot of the building where Mako crime reporter Shimon Ifergan lives in Be'er Sheva. According to a report on Channel 12, this morning the weapon was found in the building's parking lot and police officers arrived at the scene accompanied by a police sapper, handled the grenade and removed it from the scene. The incident occurred around 1:00 AM, and footage from the scene shows the suspects stopping their car in front of the building's parking lot, getting out of the vehicle - and one of them throwing the grenade. One of Ifergan's neighbors noticed the grenade outside the apartment building, called the police, and a few minutes later the police officers who arrived closed off the street next to an elementary school. Shortly after finding the grenade, investigators went to Ifergan's house and took testimony from him. Last Friday, an IDF training grenade was placed outside the door of Ifergan's house, a grenade that his nephew found when he arrived at the reporter's house on Saturday evening. Ifergan immediately called the police, who arrived at the scene along with sappers - and they handled the grenade and removed it from the scene. The Israel Police said after finding the grenade this morning: "We appeal to the public to immediately report any suspicious object that arouses suspicion to Hotline 100 and leave the handling to the police." Mako responded: "We hope that the police will increase their efforts in investigating the threats in light of the escalation and the tangible danger to the life of a journalist in Israel."'
