Rabbi Shimon Adani, the elder of Shas' Council of Torah Sages, was evacuated to Mayanei Hayeshua Hospital this evening (Monday) after a serious deterioration in his condition - and is hospitalized in critical condition.

This evening, the veteran underwent successful resuscitation at the hospital and is sedated and on a ventilator.

Aryeh Deri left the negotiation room and went to the hospital in Bnei Brak.

MK Yoav Ben-Tzur, who serves as secretary of the Council of Torah Sages, said this evening: "In light of the worsening medical condition of the rabbi, together the entire House of Israel has torn the gates of heaven in prayer and cry for the healing of our teacher and rabbi, the elder of the Council of Torah Sages, Rabbi Shimon Ben-Haviva, among the rest of the sick of his people Israel."

The 95-year-old Adani was released a month ago from the "Ma'anei Hayeshua" hospital, after three weeks of hospitalization.

Last Saturday evening, the Rabbi participated in a meeting of the Shas Council of Torah Sages, at the home of council member Rabbi Maya in Tel Aviv.

During the meeting, Aryeh Deri reviewed in detail before the council the negotiations and Shas' demands for joining the coalition led by Netanyahu, and all of Shas' demands in great detail.

The Shas chairman also detailed to the Council of Torah Sages the proposed distribution of portfolios.
