Two days before the National Union Central Committee meeting, Minister Uri Ariel sent an angry letter to the chairman of the Jewish Home, Minister Naftali Bennett, this evening (Monday), in which he protested that the party chairman intends to pass, according to him, the Jewish Home party constitution before concluding the details of the unity between the National Union and the National Union, as agreed on the eve of the Knesset elections, despite repeated requests from Minister Ariel and members of the National Union.
""This is not friendship and certainly not an aspiration for unity," wrote Ariel Levant.
Minister Ariel recalls that "a year and a half ago, on the eve of the elections, we agreed between the National Union Party and the National Democratic Alliance - Jewish Home to carry out a merger between the two parties. Despite dozens of requests to you to move forward with discussions on unity, you repeatedly rejected us in an unfriendly manner.".
""Your words yesterday, as published on Channel 7, indicate that your intention from the beginning was to pass a constitution without us and then turn to us for unity. This is not friendship and certainly not an aspiration for unity!""
Minister Ariel repeats his proposal: "I proposed and I repeat my proposal, to sit down continuously and seriously and conclude unity, and only then implement a joint constitution.".
Minister Ariel emphasizes: "Your words make it seem as if we are coordinating, but these things have no basis and may mislead the public.".
