Broadcaster Nathan Zehavi, who wished for the Channel 14 studio to burn down after watching the show "The Patriots," was suspended from Radio 103FM this evening (Monday).
Zehavi, who hosts a program on Radio 103, published a post on Facebook last night in which he wished for the Channel 14 studio to burn down. "I watched half an hour of Channel 14, I wish the studio would burn down on its occupants," he wrote.
Today on his radio show he did not apologize, but rather the opposite: he continued and echoed his words, saying: "I wanted the studio to burn down in the middle of what I was watching..."
Attorney Danino Yigal, representing Channel 14, demanded that the second authority stop the program broadcast on the 103FM radio station, in accordance with the law prohibiting incitement and the country's broadcasting regulations, as the law states that the penalty for this offense is five years in prison.
Following the serious incitement and threats received by the channel's management, and out of fear for the safety of employees, it was decided today to increase security at Channel 14's studios.
Radio 103 responded to the incitement: "Natan Zehavi's statement on the air today (Monday) is a serious statement that has no place on 103fm radio broadcasts, and constitutes a blatant violation of the limits of freedom of expression. After clarifying the issue with the presenter, the radio management decided to suspend the presenter from broadcasting until further notice."
MK Ofir Akunis responded to the incitement of given Golden: "This could end in the loss of human life, their incitement never stops. I ask myself, where does all this hatred come from?"
MK Bezalel Smotrich called on the police to open an investigation. "Natan Zehavi should be questioned by the police today for incitement, and if the Journalists' Association still has a little integrity left, it should speak out clearly. And to you, Channel 14 people - be strong and continue to voice a proud Jewish and Zionist voice."
