This morning, the second family came to the hospital to identify another body, also an 80-year-old woman - and that is how the mistake was discovered. The hospital summoned the family members, informed them of the unusual event and apologized to them. A statement from the hospital said: Due to a rare and unfortunate error in identifying a deceased body that occurred at Carmel Medical Center, the wrong body was brought for burial. Immediately upon discovery of the error, the hospital summoned and informed the families, and professional teams are surrounding and accompanying the families with everything necessary. The hospital deeply apologized to the families and informed the relevant authorities.
