As part of the desire to calm the right-wing sections within the coalition, and especially MK Nir Orbach, who is currently considered the weak link, senior coalition officials have pledged that the settlement of Homesh in northern Samaria will not be evacuated in the coming months. This was announced today (Monday) on the morning program on Channel B. This is despite the announcement made to the High Court of Justice that the settlement must evacuate, and despite the fact that in two months the state is required to give the High Court an update on preparations for the evacuation of the settlement. The understanding in the coalition at the moment is that evacuating the settlement in the near future will certainly lead to the dissolution of the government by the right, and therefore a delay of at least two to several months is required in evacuating Homesh. Therefore, senior coalition officials have conveyed messages in this spirit to right-wing elements in the government. Senior coalition officials have made it clear, on the other hand, that if the coalition breaks up in the coming weeks in any case and the Knesset goes to elections, this could also hasten the evacuation of Homesh. As long as the coalition manages to hold on, the evacuation of the settlement will be postponed.
