You're not seeing double: Identical twins gave birth to a son together on the same day

Yael Yishai - a programmer who lives in Gush Etzion, and Avital Segal - an accountant, also from Gush Etzion, are identical twins, 31 years old. They both have three children, two daughters and a son. On the night between Monday and Tuesday of last week, Yael, who was born just minutes before Avital, arrived first in the delivery room at Shaare Zedek Medical Center. The birth took place a few hours later. In the afternoon, Avital also arrived in the delivery room at the medical center, where she shared with the staff that just a few hours ago her identical twin sister had given birth. "The lovely nurses recognized the excitement and immediately asked for my sister's name, so that we could both reserve a shared room in the ward. After long hours in the delivery room, a healthy son was born. The staff went above and beyond to make the process easier. After the birth process was complete, they made sure to put me next to my sister," said Avital. Yael added: "Birth is a special and exciting event. It's nice to share it with a good friend who is also a sister. It was fun to be together in the room, with the new babies. In the past, we were blessed to give birth six weeks apart on our third birth, and this will be our second maternity leave together." "Most of the city's babies are born here and we feel part of one big family in our role here at the largest neonatal center in the country.
