50-year-old brutally beaten by Hasidim from Gur: Police launch investigation

In addition, according to the police statement, "The Israel Police launched an investigation into clashes and other offenses that occurred between the parties in the city of Ashdod over the weekend, where police forces arrived to separate the rioters, and a number of those involved who took an active part in the disturbances and attacks are expected to be questioned." The serious attack this morning comes after a Saturday of violent riots by Gur Hasidim in the city, who, starting on Saturday evening, indiscriminately attacked members of the community of the Gur yeshiva's head. Among other things, as reported in Haredim 10, the community's Hasidic house in Ashdod's 7th district was vandalized, when a large group of Gur Hasidim arrived at the "shtibel" and with clubs began to riot in the synagogue and break everything in sight. A large fight broke out between the parties and large forces of police arrived at the scene to separate the parties. No casualties were reported in the fight, but heavy damage was caused to the synagogue. On Saturday morning, the violence by Gur Hasidim resumed, and large forces from the Ashdod police arrived to calm things down.
