Ido Tzur Atar, a 36-year-old resident of Yavne, who teaches Torah reading to boys before their Bar Mitzvah in the city of Sderot, was arrested on suspicion of committing serious offenses against boys. Can you keep a secret? Solve an issue? We are looking for you for a prestigious position His detention was extended by six days - until next Tuesday. The police investigation into the case began at the beginning of the week, when a mother of three boys, aged 14-15, arrived at the police station in the city of Sderot and told investigators that during personal conversations she had with her sons, after noticing a change in behavior, they had recounted to her a long and systematic series of serious offenses committed by a man with whom all three of them studied on the occasion of their aliyah to Torah, towards the age of 13. The suspect, whose name was permitted to be published today, was arrested that same day by investigators at the Sderot station, and he was questioned on suspicion of a serious act against a minor under the age of 14. Today, during the second extension of his detention in the Magistrate's Court, the court granted the request of a police representative to allow the publication of the suspect's name and details of the case, in light of the suspicion that he had committed similar offenses against other minors who studied or are studying with him in the city of Sderot. "The police are calling on parents whose children studied with the suspect to check whether he acted in a similar pattern towards them, and if there is suspicion of committing a crime, to report it to the Sderot police," the police statement said.
