The events escalated when a vehicle drove at high speed at a checkpoint towards Border Guard soldiers, hitting a passerby who was there. The soldiers carried out a suspect arrest procedure that included shooting at the vehicle's wheels, and arrested 5 suspects inside - three residents of Qalandia, a resident of Silwan, and a resident of the north. A total of 20 suspects were arrested in the activity. Additional arrests are expected later. Police documentation of one of the arrests shows the arrest of a masked rioter who tried to escape the scene, but was arrested within a short time by police forces with the assistance and guidance of observers from the Jerusalem District Control Center. Additional arrests were made in a similar manner by criminalizing suspects who were recorded throwing stones and disrupting order.Documentary from Jerusalem: A police officer grabs a stone/object that was thrown from a roof on Salah a-Din Street and falls to the floor.
