Three young ultra-Orthodox Jerusalemites with American citizenship, who were arrested last Thursday by the Sharm el-Sheikh police with about 80 teddy bears resembling Egyptian army coats, have been released. The young men were interrogated in Sharm, transferred to Suez and from there to Cairo. After the interrogations by Egyptian intelligence concluded, they were brought to court, but at the last minute it was decided not to try them. They were released last night after midnight. Attorney Mordechai Tzivin, who deals with international affairs, Interpol, and also represents Arabs from Iraq and Syria, says that in his professional experience around the world, he has never encountered such excellent treatment of detainees by investigators. Tzivin notes the high level of human rights that the young people were granted by the Egyptian investigators, and the fact that the investigators came to the conclusion that the young people were innocent and did not know that bringing the coats was illegal in Egypt. "To this day, in my extensive experience in the world, I have never encountered such good treatment of detainees," he said. According to Attorney Tzivin, due to the fact that Jews are very sensitive to the ransoming of captives and it is considered one of the most important commandments in the Torah, he was able to involve senior figures to help him resolve the affair, including the dayan of the Satmar community in Antwerp, the Hiddu Weiss, who works to ransom captives - including non-Jews. Rabbi Weiss quoted the Torah as saying, "And God created man "In the image of God created he him" and said that he has "no problem helping even Arabs who are not against Jews." The remarks were quoted on the Arab website almontsf.[Gallery]

One of the three young men who were arrested, two of whom were brothers, said in an exclusive conversation that reached Haredim 10 upon his return to Israel on Monday: “Three of us were arrested at the airport in Sharm el-Sheikh. After 12 hours in which we were in a smelly cell, without beds or mattresses, just a blanket on the floor, we were transferred to the city of Suez and there we were brought before a judge along with three other Israelis/Frenchmen who were accused of waving the Israeli flag inside a restaurant. Their trial ended with a warning. “In our case, the head of intelligence informed us that he apologized for the arrest, said that due to the sensitive security situation they were mistaken in thinking that we had a connection to the ISIS attack that took place that day in Sinai, in which 18 Egyptian soldiers were killed. “We were transferred to Cairo and released there. The two young men who were arrested with me have not yet returned – because they are waiting to receive from the Egyptian police the turbans and kippahs that were taken from them (also from me) during the arrest, and this is because one of the turbans has nostalgic value, since it belonged to their grandfather.”.
