''Humiliating slap': Arab man attacks Jewish girl on Jerusalem light rail

Antisemitic attack on the light rail: A young Jewish woman resident of Jerusalem was attacked and beaten while traveling by an Arab resident of the city. Are you over the age of 60? This is the teaching for you from Rabbi Kanievsky, zt”l The young woman filed a complaint at the police station, and is receiving assistance from Attorney Haim Bleicher of Mhonenu, who also contacted the Israel Police demanding that they expedite and immediately locate the attacker and file an indictment against him for assault on nationalistic grounds. In a letter sent by Attorney Bleicher to the Jerusalem police station, the events were described: "On 10.04.22, my client was attacked by a member of a minority group in a light rail car in Jerusalem. "My client, a young girl of about 16 years old, was standing and talking to her sister, when at the time a group of minority boys were in the car. Suddenly, and for no reason, one of the minority members came and struck my client hard on the arm. He continued on his way, grinning. "My client, who was in severe pain, turned to the attacker in protest of the act, but he treated her with disdain. My client and her sister got off at the 'City Hall' station and reported the act to the police. Later, my client filed a complaint at the Shaar Binyamin station. This is an anti-Semitic, humiliating and outrageous attack - and seven times more ugly when it involves an Arab man slapping a woman and in front of many people, and it must be dealt with resolutely and not taken lightly. "A terrorist who begins such an attack, and is not treated properly, is expected to 'gain an appetite' and continue to escalate to more difficult and serious acts, God forbid. Let us recall that a very similar incident - in which a member of a minority slapped a Jewish man on the light rail - became public and largely triggered the riots of 1971 last year." Attorney Bleicher demanded that the light rail photographs be quickly and immediately backed up in order to get a hold of the attacker. "I will request that the train cameras be backed up urgently and immediately before they are deleted, both from the inside car to document the attack, and from the outside stations to monitor the station where the terrorist got off and locate his place of residence. I will request that intelligence agencies be activated, to locate the attacker, arrest him, and bring him to justice." Attorney Haim Bleicher of Mhonenu commented on the attack: "This is an incident of brazenness and deliberate humiliation by Arab terrorists. The police must reach those terrorists whose sole goal is to harm Jews and humiliate them. Because a terrorist who did such a thing will not stop here. They must be reached quickly, arrested, and brought to justice.".
