The arrest was made after a recent undercover investigation conducted by the Prison Service and the Information Security Branch, during which investigative materials and intelligence information were accumulated that indicated criminal activity taking place between the prison guard and security prisoners within the prison walls. According to the suspicion, the prison guard, 20 years old, a member of minorities from the village of Kisra Samea in the Galilee, who serves in a prison in the southern region, allegedly acted on several occasions and over a period of time to secretly introduce mobile phones to prisoners, in exchange for sums of money he allegedly received from the prisoners. It also emerged during the investigation that two additional suspects, a man from the prison guard's village who served as a driver and a 'middleman' who arranged for mobile phones and SIM cards to be transferred to him, were involved in the affair and collaborated with the main suspect. This evening (Tuesday) 3 suspects were arrested, with the suspicions against the prison guard being accepting a bribe, conspiring to commit a crime, receiving something by fraud, Fraud and breach of trust and introduction of prohibited/dangerous objects. During the arrest in Katziot, mobile phones, SIM cards and cash were seized from the suspects, which constituted the bribe payment to the guard. Tomorrow, the suspects will be brought to the Rishon LeZion Magistrate's Court, where the police will request an extension of their detention.
