The late businessman and billionaire Eitan Wertheimer passed away at the age of 70.

The late Israeli businessman, industrialist, and billionaire Eitan Wertheimer passed away this morning (Monday) at the age of 70, after battling a serious illness. The late Wertheimer, with his father, Steph Wertheimer, now 95, who immigrated from Germany and served as a former member of Knesset, founded the IMC Group, which was sold to Berkshire Hathaway for about $6 billion, and for many years managed the companies 'Iskaar' and 'Lehavim Technology' owned by his family. Wertheimer is considered one of the pillars and leaders of the capital and industrial market in Israel, and is known as a gifted industrialist and entrepreneur, and as one of the most successful and talented businessmen in Israel. His family was a business empire with a fortune estimated at over $6 billion. He was born and raised in Nahariya, to parents Steph and Miriam. He studied at the Technological School in Haifa and served in a development unit in the Armed Forces. He is survived by his wife - the artist Ariela Wertheimer - and five children. Two of his daughters are singer Sivan Talmor, and presenter and actress Maya Wertheimer, who is married to the Israeli consul in New York, Assaf Zamir. Wertheimer was involved in social initiatives and donated much of his fortune to charitable and benevolent institutions.
