The late Chaim, a resident of Beit Shemesh, a second-grade student at the Mir Brachfeld Yeshiva in Modiin Illit, was a yeshiva student and also a musical genius who composed songs and even wrote an essay on music theory.
Music was present in the Rack family home for a long time thanks to Chaim, and since he died in the disaster, they have often held "Malwa Malka" events at their home.
MK Idit Silman's connection with the Rak family was formed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Abu Kabir, when she helped them identify their son after the disaster - and they have been in touch ever since.
Last night, public figures, singers, representatives from the families of the Meron victims, celebrities and family friends joined together to strengthen and cheer them on, with the singing and chanting of 'Malwa Malka', and concluding with a Seder Moed from the Babylonian Talmud, in honor of the late Chaim's soul.
Singer Yonatan Razel came to entertain the evening, and a special program was also held for the women, with the full lineup of 'Bnot Netanel'. Among the songs on the evening was a song composed to the words written by Rabbi Shimon Matalon, z"l, one of the victims of the Meron disaster, and found on a page that he wrote to his friend.
