Singer and network star Yoav Eliasi, known as "Hatzel," found himself on Friday in front of a meeting in which a person opposed to Judaism shouted at Chabad followers, who suggested to passersby at the entrance to the Ramat Aviv mall - to put on tefillin, as they do every Friday.
"Friday, traveling with my children in the car," Eliasi began the post he posted today (Sunday) on his Facebook account. "At the entrance to the Ramat Aviv mall, I see from the car three Chabad members offering people to put on tefillin. A man with dogs approaches the Chabad members and starts yelling at them. They lower their heads, ignore him, and don't answer him.
"I immediately turn around and head towards the Chabad members. I call the guy in the picture to come to me by the car (I didn't want to leave the children alone). The Chabad member comes to me, worried about the tattooed guy calling him, and I tell him: Don't pay attention to the guy who shouted.
"I roll up my sleeves and ask him to put tefillin on the face of the Israel-hater who yelled at him, who walked away indignant. To the sound of applause and shouts of 'All honor' from the other drivers, a few more people arrive after me and we all put on tefillin. They are all secular!!
"That's how it works. Their hatred brings everyone else closer. The guy with the dogs didn't know it, but he did a lot of credit," he summed up the experience.
The post, accompanied by a photo of Eliasi wearing tefillin, garnered nearly 9,000 likes - and hundreds of comments and shares.
Surfers complimented him and wrote: "Good luck, great power," "champion," "aspire to be great," "well done," and "king."
