According to a report on Channel 13, the State Attorney's Office is expected to admit that there was illegal use of spyware against former Director General of the Ministry of Communications and State Committee Shlomo Filber, in that the police expanded the warrant that allowed the hack - but extracted prohibited materials.
The prosecutor's office claims that the prohibited material extracted in the break-in was not handed over to investigators. The conclusions also show that the police tried unsuccessfully to infect another person involved in Case 4000, and the wife of the controlling shareholder of the Bezeq Group, Iris Elovitch, who is also accused in the case. The prosecutor's office examined whether an appropriate warrant was issued for the phone numbers of those involved and whether additional wiretapping warrants were issued or requested. The tests were conducted regarding both regular wiretapping activity and wiretapping using spy technologies. In total, the prosecutor's office examined about 1,500 different phone numbers. The prosecutor's office asked the court for an additional extension until Wednesday in order to complete the test. In addition to the prosecutor's test, the test by Deputy Attorney General Amit Marari is still ongoing and its conclusions are expected to be published later this week.
