The New York Police Department's Hate Crimes Unit is investigating two attacks on Hasidim on Saturday night in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

The method that swept the world to quit smoking is reaching the ultra-Orthodox sector. What's the magic?

In both cases, the Hasidim were attacked from behind, without any provocation on their part.

The first incident occurred at 10:26 p.m., when a Hasidic couple was walking on Mercy Boulevard and Stockton Street in a neighborhood populated by Satmar Hasidic Jews. Security footage from the attack shows the Hasidic couple walking on the sidewalk when the attacker, a black African-American man, sneaks up behind them and punches the Hasidic in the head.

The attacker then fled the scene. No words were exchanged between the suspect and the victims.

In a second incident that occurred that evening on the same street, two suspects attacked two Hasidim, throwing their Shteymils to the floor before fleeing the scene.
