Fighting? This is Minister Lieberman's move against companies that won't lower prices

Starting to fight? Finance Minister Avigdor Lieberman today (Tuesday) asked the joint price committee of the ministries of finance and economy to examine whether a number of companies, manufacturers and importers, are abusing their market power.

""We welcome the decision of the companies that responded to our appeal and chose not to increase, or even lower, the prices of their products, thereby demonstrating solidarity in the complex period that is befalling us these days," said Lieberman.

""We will examine the activities of the remaining companies with all the means at our disposal, and as proof, this morning I appealed to the Prices Committee to examine as quickly as possible the companies' use of excess market power for the purpose of raking in excess profits at the public's expense.".
