In November, the Competition Authority opened an investigation against Shufersal and Strauss on suspicion of price fixing and violation of the Competition Law.

As part of the investigation, the Competition Authority raided the company's offices and seized documents and computer equipment.

Abrakhan was also summoned for questioning at the PA offices.

Before being appointed CEO, Aberkhan held various positions at the company since 2000.

The company's chairman of the board of directors, Yaki Vadmani, said: "On my behalf, on behalf of the members of the board of directors, management, and all employees of the Shufersal Group, we thank Mr. Aberchan for his enormous contribution to the company during his many years of work there, including ten years as CEO. Mr. Aberchan shaped and instilled in the company its core values - service and professionalism, quality, fairness, innovation, Israeliness and commitment to employees, and led the company to many excellences and achievements, and its positioning as the outstanding and leading company in Israel in the field of retail."
