A 50-year-old Haredi woman was moderately injured this afternoon (Thursday) on Shmuel Hanavi Street in Jerusalem - after being hit by a bus that overturned while she was walking on the sidewalk with two 6-year-old girls.

The girls, under private supervision, were slightly injured after running in panic. Miraculously, they were not physically harmed by the bus. Rescue forces called to the scene at 3:30 PM provided the woman with initial medical treatment and she was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital along with the girls, suffering from a head injury. Yanki Zelikowitz, a United Hatzalah paramedic: "This is a 50-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a bus. We provided her with initial aid at the scene of the accident and at this point her condition is classified as moderate." Moshe Wells, a United Hatzalah paramedic, said: "After the initial aid we provided her at the scene, she was evacuated to Hadassah Mount Scopus Medical Center. According to passersby, she was hit by the bus while walking on the sidewalk with her children, who were miraculously unharmed. The police said that the Israel Police's traffic accident investigators have begun investigating the circumstances of the traffic accident. "Initial details indicate that a bus that skidded for a reason that is unknown at this stage, hit a light pole that collapsed and hit three passersby who were evacuated in serious and minor condition (according to medical sources) for medical treatment." Following the accident, the section of the road between Zaks Square and Shivtei Israel was blocked to traffic.
At the same time, United Hatzalah medical teams provided first aid to a pedestrian who was hit by a bus on Rabbi Mandburna Street in Beitar Illit. Nachman Maykoff, a United Hatzalah medic: "This is a 49-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a bus. With the assistance of other medics, we provided him with first aid at the scene of the accident and then he was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem, where his condition is currently described as moderate.".
