Under the new quarantine policy framework that will go into effect tonight (Wednesday-Thursday), vaccinated people who have been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be able to get an antigen test to avoid quarantine. However, the antigen tests will not be at-home. Are you crazy? Is your child unprotected? One in every 150 children who contracted the virus was hospitalized Disaster in Bnei Brak: A 3-year-old toddler pulled the boiling pot that was placed on the gas stove in the kitchen This is a step designed to prevent overloading the testing facilities of the health funds and the Home Front Command, which are already conducting approximately 120,000 tests per day. In addition, the Ministry of Health examined the quality of the test kits following the FDA's announcement regarding concerns that they do not detect the Omicron variant, and found that they do detect the variant.
The new isolation outline:
• Vaccinated and recovering individuals will perform an institutional antigen test (not at home): - Negative result – will continue their daily routine and will be exempt from isolation. - Positive result – will perform a PCR test and remain in isolation until receiving a result: (-) Negative result – will continue their daily routine and will be exempt from isolation. (-) Positive result – will enter isolation for 10 days until recovery with a doctor's approval, and provided that in the last three days of this period, no symptoms were detected that prevent the issuance of a recovery certificate. It was also noted that during the seven days after exposure, it is recommended to avoid being in crowded places for recreation and leisure purposes, and from contact with high-risk populations. It was also determined that a vaccinated/recovering individual, who is caring for a minor under the age of 12 or a helpless person who has been confirmed to have COVID-19, will remain in isolation until receiving a negative result in a PCR test that he will perform starting from the last day of isolation of the patient he is caring for. • Unvaccinated/not recovering (according to the Ministry of Health definitions) - will undergo a PCR test: - Negative result - will remain in isolation for 14 days from the last contact with the patient and the possibility of shortening the isolation with a negative PCR test result on the 7th day. - Positive result - will enter isolation for 10 days until recovery with a doctor's approval, and provided that in the last three days of this period, no symptoms were detected that prevent the issuance of a recovery certificate. Also, an unvaccinated and not recovered person, who is caring for a minor under the age of 12 or a helpless person who has been confirmed to have COVID-19, will enter isolation for 14 days after the end of treatment with the possibility of shortening the isolation with a negative PCR test result on the 7th day. Funding for the antigen test in the event of confirmed exposure will be funded by the state. The policy will come into effect starting today at midnight, subject to the signing of the relevant order by the Director General of the Ministry of Health and the approval of the Knesset Health Committee.
Kan News reported this evening that the Ministry of Health is very concerned about New Year's Eve and Novigod parties. Therefore, a recommendation is being considered to wear masks outdoors, at gatherings and at events with many participants. It appears that at events with 100 or more participants, masks will be mandatory - even in the open air. The Ministry of Health estimates that Omicron has already taken over the morbidity and that approximately 80% of the morbidity was caused by the new strain. Because of this, a policy of stopping genetic sequencing will soon begin in a sweeping manner. Genetic sequencing will continue for all those returning from abroad, all those hospitalized, and those who test positive in the special PCR tests, the use of which will also be greatly reduced.
