However, on Wednesday evening (Wednesday), it was reported in the "main edition" of News 12 that senior officials in the Foreign Ministry claim that Erdan is engaged in making "political moves," despite insisting that he will continue to perform his duties as ambassador professionally. According to those senior officials in the Foreign Ministry, Ambassador Erdan is "doing everything to get him fired," and his ability to remain in the ambassador's position is in doubt. The senior official was quoted as saying of Erdan: "He sends text messages to members of the Likud Central Committee, gave an interview without permission to 'Israel Hayom,' and makes plays for Beis all day - instead of working." According to the report, Alon Oshpiz, Director General of the Foreign Ministry, had a difficult clarification conversation with the ambassador to the UN, in which Erdan explained that he did not see things as claimed. As a result, the Foreign Ministry decided to contact the Civil Service Commission to have them examine Erdan's performance: "We will demand an investigation into whether Erdan's actions are consistent with his status as a public servant." The Foreign Ministry's decision is a kind of preparation of the ground to signal to the ambassador to the UN: "Pack your bags and go home." A source close to Ambassador Erdan told Channel 12: "Ambassador Erdan works day and night to represent Israel at the UN in a stately manner, in a good manner, and his activity is highly appreciated.".
