Tragedy in Beit Shemesh: 8-year-old Haredi orphan killed by a passing vehicle

A difficult tragedy: Nechama Hava Wells (Yorovitz), an 8-year-old orphan girl, from a Toldot Aharon Hasidic family, was killed at noon (Thursday) by a car on Nahar Hayarden Street at the corner of Yehuda Hanasi Street in Beit Shemesh, as she crossed the road. Unfortunately, the medical team had no choice but to pronounce her dead. Hadassah Medical Center reported: An 8-year-old girl who was critically injured by a vehicle in Beit Shemesh was evacuated to the trauma unit at Hadassah Ein Kerem while resuscitation efforts were underway. Despite the ongoing resuscitation efforts at the hospital, the team was forced to declare her dead. MDA reported that "at 12:56, a report was received at the MDA 101 hotline in the Jerusalem area about a girl who was injured by a vehicle on Jordan River Boulevard in Beit Shemesh. MDA medics and paramedics are providing medical treatment and performing CPR on the 8-year-old girl." A spokesperson for the 'Rescue Team' reported: "When we arrived at the scene, an 8-year-old girl was found lying on the road, suffering from a head injury and apparently hit by a passing vehicle. We provided her with first aid and worked to stabilize her condition. An MDA ambulance is transferring the victim for further medical treatment while efforts are being made to save her life in a serious and unstable condition." David Amar, a United Hatzalah paramedic: "The girl lost consciousness as a result of being hit by a car. With the assistance of a volunteer doctor at United Hatzalah, we provided her with first aid while performing CPR. Assistance was also provided at the scene to the driver of the vehicle who was suffering from anxiety." Yechiel Rosenberg, another United Hatzalah paramedic: "After the CPR efforts at the scene, she was evacuated to a hospital in critical condition while CPR continued. According to passersby, she was crossing a road when she returned from school and was hit by the vehicle." The police said: The Israel Police's traffic accident investigators have begun investigating the circumstances of a traffic accident that occurred on Nahar Jordan Street in Beit Shemesh. Following the accident, a pedestrian (5) was seriously injured (according to medical sources) by a vehicle and was evacuated for medical treatment.
