Beloved Gabbai dies at age 47 after kidney failure: leaves 9 orphans

Tragedy in Bnei Brak: In Tel Aviv, the late Rabbi Shmuel Nachum Rabinowitz, z"l, of the central synagogue in Shikun Ha-Ha in Bnei Brak, died today (Sunday), at the age of 47, after his kidneys collapsed as a result of the coronavirus. Last Thursday, his condition worsened and he was hospitalized at "Ma'anei Hayeshua", and from there he was transferred to "Ichilov" Hospital on Shabbat. Unfortunately, his condition continued to deteriorate and he passed away to the sorrow of his family and many acquaintances. The deceased, z"l, was born in 1934 in the Sha'arei Chesed neighborhood in Jerusalem, to his father, Rabbi Mordechai Yekutiel Rabinowitz, z"l. In his youth, he studied at the "Ma'alot HaTorah" yeshiva in the neighborhood. He was a prayer leader and a reader for years at the central beit midrash of the Gaon Rabbi Mordechai Bonim Zilberberg, and also served as a gabbai. As someone who was the living spirit in the neighborhood, he was also a regular at the "Heichal Yitzhak" beit midrash in Spinka Ganei-Gad in the neighborhood, and he took care of the well-being of the synagogue. He left behind nine orphaned children whom he had not yet had the honor of leading to the chuppah. The funeral procession will leave today from Shikun Ha-Ha in Bnei Brak for Jerusalem, where he will be buried.
