Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said today that the obligation to wear masks in enclosed spaces will go into effect on Sunday, after seven consecutive days with more than a hundred confirmed cases.
Corona Commissioner Professor Nachman Ash ordered preparations to be made for this and the work required to issue the order to be completed.
The Director-General of the Ministry of Health, Prof. Hezi Levy, said on the Israeli Broadcasting Corporation: "If the weekly average of confirmed cases is around a hundred a day, we will issue new regulations that will require us all to wear masks. We will know in a day or two - but this is really the direction.".Earlier published Ministry of Health data shows that the largest number of confirmed cases in the past month was among those returning from Russia. 38 of those returning from the country were found to be confirmed within ten days of entry, and more than half of those confirmed were vaccinated. 23 confirmed patients entered Israel from the United Arab Emirates. 82.6% of those confirmed to have entered from the Emirates were vaccinated.
In total, 215 verified people who returned from abroad entered Israel last month. 54% of them were vaccinated.
