''Honest and Valuable': Minister Shaked Appoints Yair Hirsch as Director General of the Ministry of the Interior

Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked announced today (Tuesday) her decision to appoint Yair Hirsch as Director General of the Ministry of the Interior. This is subject to the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Civil Service Commission and the government's decision. Yair Hirsch, 45, a father of seven, a resident of the settlement of Kida in Binyamin, is a Colonel (res.) in the Commando Brigade in the reserves, holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Master of Laws in Commercial Track (LLM), both from Bar Ilan University. He previously served for 4 years as Chief of Staff to Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, as CEO of two subsidiaries in the food sector in the 'Leiman Schlissel' group, and as VP of Operations in businessman Shlomo Ben Zvi's communications group. In the past year, he served as acting CEO of companies that encountered cash flow/operational difficulties under the court trustee (at KCR), as well as a center and leader of policy and business development in defense companies. Hirsch has extensive experience in managing companies in the private sector and in performing senior staff positions in the public sector and the IDF. He has proven experience in implementing structural and cultural changes aimed at achieving goals and results, along with improving work processes, savings and efficiency.
