Shai Maimon, number 9 in Yamina, resigned from the party list this morning (Tuesday) because he refused to enter the Knesset under Norwegian law and support Bennett's left-wing government. Yamina waited for his resignation to allow Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked to resign, thus allowing Yom Tov Kalfon, who supports the government, to enter the Knesset. Shai Maimon wrote on his social media accounts: "I have just submitted my resignation from the Yamina faction to the Knesset Speaker. I will not break our promise to the public not to rely on the votes of a party that supports terrorism. I will not turn my back on my friends from the bereaved families and victims of hostility. "We promised that we would not rely on a party that supports the continuation of distributing salaries to terrorists, that criticizes terrorists who murder Jews in prison, that opposes the State of Israel as the state of the Jewish nation." Maimon admitted that the resignation was very painful for him: "Resigning from the position of Knesset member hurts me very much on a personal level, after two and a half years in which I worked for Yamina and its success on a daily basis, but the principles, values, and truth are above all. In doing so, I believe that I faithfully represent many of the Yamina party voters, who entrusted their votes to us at the ballot box. "My resignation does not sustain the coalition, and my opposition would not bring it down, due to the fact that I am not a serving MK. Therefore, I find it appropriate to stand by my principles and resign from the faction." Maimon promised: "With God's help, I will continue to act in the public arena for the values I believe in, and for the State of Israel, and I will also be willing to pay a personal price for this. God willing, we will do it and we will succeed, with the people of Israel alive." MK Yoav Kish responded: "Shai Maimon's mistake. He should remain on the list and represent the principles for which he was elected. They will want to put him in the Knesset that he enters.".
