The Jerusalem District Court ruled that the murderers of soldier Yanai Weissman in a stabbing attack in the Shaar Binyamin complex five and a half years ago will pay compensation to Avi Avital - who was injured in the attack. The ruling states that the murderers will pay Avital, a member of the Binyamin Regional Council plenum, four million shekels and add legal costs of 450,000 shekels. Avital sued the Palestinian Authority and the three terrorists for 37 million shekels for the damages he suffered. According to the lawsuit filed with the Jerusalem District Court, on February 18, 2016, when Avital was in the Rami Levy supermarket in the Shaar Binyamin complex, three Palestinian terrorists entered and began a stabbing spree. Two of them stabbed Avital several times, and then soldier Yanai Weissman, who came to his aid, was also stabbed - and killed. Avital claimed that the Palestinian Authority supports and finances terrorists, having encouraged them from infancy to commit terrorist acts, and therefore bears direct responsibility for the plaintiff's attempted murder.
