Passengers of a Jewish car were attacked with stones this morning (Monday) near the Lions Gate - as a result of which the driver lost control of the vehicle and caused a self-inflicted accident. What are your chances of winning a duplex? And why is your dream closer than ever? Free: How much money are you losing because you don't know what your rights are? What do you say about white chocolate with cookie crumbs? And what about a tasty snack? After the accident, the rioters tried to lynch the driver. But then a policeman emerged, pulled out a gun, and fired several shots into the air, thus preventing the attempted lynching. Roy Mordechai, a resident of Beit Orot who was driving the car during the attempted lynching, recounted the dramatic event in a conversation with News 12 from Mount Scopus Hospital: "They also threw stones at us at the intersection near Rockefeller, and from there, fortunately, we managed to escape with the car, and then we called the police, who were with us on the line. When we got under the Lions Gate, on the way from our house to the Western Wall, they started throwing many blocks at us, breaking the windows, and trying to open the car's doors. We tried to escape and our car almost overturned, hitting some stone on the side of the road. "Some Arab reached out through the window and sprayed me with gas – I don't know which, pepper or tear gas – on my face and all over my body. My two friends were slightly injured in the face by stones. Luckily the police were with us on the line and it took them 5 minutes to arrive, otherwise I don't know how it would have ended. I suffer from gas injuries, my face was burning badly and my hands are still burning. I've lived in the Old City area for 6 years, there haven't been things like this here like in the last month. "If the police had been delayed a few more minutes, I don't know what would have happened there. There were huge amounts of Arabs there, several dozen. There were three of us stuck in the car, I couldn't see anything after that gas, my eyes were closed until a few minutes ago. Really - a miracle that we were with the police on the line." Barak Baruch, another passenger who was in the back seat of the car, recalled in a conversation with News 12: "They had murder in their eyes. I don't know how we got out of there. We drove to the Western Wall to pray, and then on the road leading to the Western Wall, they started throwing stones at us, huge blocks, the windows shattered, we were all injured. There were at least 50 people around the car, they took us out of the car. What went through my mind was to get out alive, that's all. It's a great miracle." The car's passengers were, miraculously, slightly injured. The police said: "Stones were thrown in the direction of a vehicle that was driving in the Jericho Road area of Jerusalem. As a result, the driver of the vehicle lost control and the vehicle veered off the road. The car's passengers were slightly injured. A policeman who was at the scene working to rescue the passengers felt life-threatening and was forced to shoot into the air. "Police forces present in the area assisted the vehicle's passengers, repelled the rioters, and are working to locate the suspects.". Senior MDA medic Malka Luke said: "We arrived at the scene and saw the men standing outside the vehicle after it had been pelted with stones while police were securing them. The injured suffered minor injuries and injuries from tear gas. "The two injured were put in an ambulance for medical treatment and we evacuated them to the hospital in stable condition. Due to the commotion and stone-throwing in the area, we were forced to take a detour to the hospital and not the fastest route." The chairman of the Religious Zionist Party, MK Bezalel Smotrich, responded: "Such a terrible lynching that takes place in broad daylight in Jerusalem is a tactical and strategic failure. Strategically, there is a failure by Netanyahu for many, many years in enforcing Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem. The raising of the head of the Arab enemy in the capital did not start in one day. "This is a rolling event that is getting worse year by year. 100% Netanyahu's failure. A policy of zero enforcement and zero deterrence in the face of open activity by Erdogan and the Palestinian Authority and a host of enemy elements, and in the face of terrorism raising its head to violence. Almost always surrender and capitulation. A tactical failure by the police that allows more and more such cases in recent days. So far, it always ends in a miracle. Thank God Almighty who steps in where we fail." [Gallery]
