The Jerusalem District Attorney's Office filed an indictment against a 17-year-old troublemaker today (Tuesday) at the city's Juvenile Magistrate's Court for racially motivated assault and invasion of privacy.

According to the indictment, on April 14, 21, the eve of Independence Day, the defendant boarded the Jerusalem light rail at the Safra Square station, along with six other boys.

A few minutes later, at the Shimon HaTzadik station, two young men boarded the train and sat down on one of the benches in the carriage where the group was sitting.

The defendant noticed the young men who had a Jewish religious appearance and decided to attack them. When the train arrived at Shuafat station, the defendant walked up to the young men, waved his hand and slapped them hard in the face, all while the entire incident was recorded by his friend.

As a result of the defendant's actions, one of them suffered severe pain in his cheek and his glasses were broken. The other young man also felt pain and his glasses flew off his face from the force of the slap.

According to the indictment, the defendant distributed the video to several other people. Later, the video reached another person who distributed the video publicly on the social network 'Tik Tok', with a caption in Arabic above the video that means: "You keep deleting and I'll keep uploading, it's either the Palestinian people or you.".

Upon filing the indictment, the prosecution also filed a request to extend his release under restrictive conditions.
