At approximately 1:00 AM (Friday night), a pedestrian, approximately 40 years old, was injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Jabotinsky Street in Bnei Brak. The man, a pedestrian who apparently crossed the road without using a crosswalk, was hit by a vehicle traveling in the direction of Petah Tikva. Union Hatzalah volunteers and paramedics provided him with initial medical treatment at the scene, and he was taken, in serious condition, suffering from a head injury, sedated and on a ventilator, to Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer. The driver of the offending vehicle was also injured in the accident, and was slightly injured and after treatment at the scene was taken to the hospital for further medical treatment.
Photographer Uzi Barak, a volunteer with United Hatzalah, said: "We received a report of a serious car accident at 122 Jabotinsky Street in Bnei Brak. United Hatzalah Bnei Brak volunteers who arrived at the scene treated a pedestrian who was seriously injured in the head and suffered bruises all over his body. Due to the severity of the impact, the driver of the private vehicle who was injured also received medical treatment and was taken to the hospital.
