Osher Deri, a 23-year-old woman from Tzor HaGlilit, died last night (Thursday) as a result of an allergic reaction to milk. The police began investigating the incident and suspect that the young woman felt unwell after eating a dairy dessert at a kosher meat restaurant - which was not supposed to be dairy. The police are investigating the owner, chef and employees of the restaurant, on suspicion of causing death by negligence. Galit Deri, Osher's mother, told Kan News that the restaurant where Osher ate the dairy dessert is kosher meat, and that Osher had worked at the restaurant in the past - and the staff knew her and knew her allergy. The mother said that Osher was born allergic to milk, and all her life they were careful not to bring dairy food into her house, lest she develop a severe allergic reaction. "For 22 years I kept her from going near anything dairy. "We didn't know what dairy was just so she wouldn't take a risk," said the mother. According to her, as soon as Osher only tasted a dairy food, she had to get to the hospital within five minutes to receive medical treatment. The mother said that she found out from Osher's friend, who was eating with her at the restaurant, that one of the employees had gone to buy dessert supplies outside the restaurant and served Osher a chocolate cake with dairy whipped cream. The mother told of the difficult moments, after the allergic reaction she developed: "She called me and told me, 'Mom, I accidentally ate dairy whipped cream, I'm not breathing.'".
