
A 22-year-old IDF soldier was found shot in the head at a military base in the Jordan Valley area last night (Wednesday) and was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital for medical treatment.

This is a soldier from the 50th Battalion of the Nahal Brigade.
The military police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and are examining whether it was a stray bullet or another type of shooting.
The IDF has ruled out a suicide attempt at this stage and estimates that he was probably shot by another soldier on the base grounds. One of the possibilities being investigated is playing with a weapon.
At the conclusion of the investigation, the findings will be transferred to the Military Prosecutor's Office.
Hadassah Ein Kerem reported: "A 22-year-old man was taken to the trauma unit by helicopter in the middle of the night with a serious gunshot wound to the head. The young man is being treated by the team in the neurosurgical intensive care unit. His condition is critical and his life is in immediate danger.".
